TO UNDERSTAND FULLY

TO BE MEMORIZED

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1 Peter 3:15

The New Testament is

An agreement (contract) given to man by God

And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.

Heb. 9:15

Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood.  For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,

Heb. 9:18, 19

For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.  He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?  For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.  It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Heb. 10:26-31

For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.  For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of now strength at all while the testator liveth.

Heb. 9:16, 17

According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

2 Pet. 1:3

Purpose of the New Testament

To save all men

And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good?  There is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Mat. 19:17

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

John 14:15

Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Rev. 1:3

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Mat. 7:21

The new Testament gives Christians an accurate, inspired, historical, written record of the founding of the Christian religion.  That record contains:

·       The coming of Christ.

·       His life on this earth.

·       His death, burial and resurrection.

·       The establishment of the church.

·       The growth of the church.

·       The inspired writings of God’s messengers, the apostles.

·       The promise that God’s children (Christians) will emerge victorious over death.
