BIBLE CHALLENGE – 2006/2007 School Year It is important that every child be acquainted with God and His Word. It is our prayer that all children will study daily to know God’s Word and to put His Word into their hearts. In order to have a better understanding of God’s Word, it is essential that each child own a copy of the Bible. This year’s Bible challenge is being offered to the children in English, Tamil and Telegu Bible classes. It is my prayer that each of you will do well and that soon each of you will have earned your reward. For your hard work, you will be awarded a Bible of your own. Following are the requirements for this year’s Bible Challenge. May God be with each child in your endeavor to learn His Word: I. The student must be able to say from memory, the following: The books of the Old Testament The divisions of the Old Testament w/books in each The books of the New Testament The divisions of the New Testament w/books in each The days of creation The 10 plagues The Ten Commandments The 12 sons of Jacob The 12 Apostles II. The student must be able to identify on a map the following things: From the Old Testament - The land of each of the twelve tribes 1. Asher 2. Benjamin 3. Dan 4. Ephrahim 5. Gad 6. 7. Issachar 8. Manasseh 9. Naphtali 10. Reuben 11. Simeon 12. Zebulon From the New Testament - The names of the districts (regions, etc.) of the The following cities: Emmaus Joppa Shechem Sychar The following locations: The The The III. Outline on a map the following: A. Paul’s Missionary Journeys 1. Paul’s first missionary journey 2. Paul’s second missionary journey 3. Paul’s third missionary journey IV. Memory work: A. I Peter 3:18-21 It is vital that each child memorize these facts and scriptures – not just remember them long enough to say them and have them checked off on their check-off sheet. Before Bibles will be awarded the child must pass an oral examination on certain parts of this information. It does little good to remember something just long enough to quote it – it must be put to memory so that it will become a part of the child’s life. |
